Estate agent murdered wife by stabbing her in chest in drunken rage after she taunted him over penis size and her lesbian affair
David Clark, 49, lashed out at his wife after playing New Year's Eve drinking games
AN estate agent who stabbed his wife after she taunted him over his penis size and a lesbian affair has today been found guilty of her murder.
David Clark lashed out at wife Melanie after she tried to boot him out of their home in Cloverdale, Worcs.
He claimed he suffered a "loss of control" due to "extremely grave" things Melanie told him in the months and weeks before the attack.
This included admitting having a lesbian fling with one of their friend’s daughters and telling him he had a "small d***", Clark claimed.
But South African Clark was found guilty at Birmingham Crown Court of murdering his wife during an alcohol-fuelled rampage.
The pair had been taking part in a New Year's Eve drinking game at a pals house but they got into a heated argument when they got home.
They fought over Melanie's lesbian encounter after she started bragging about seeing her female partner "in her sexy underwear".
Clark, who had downed Prosecco and whisky mixers, grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her in the chest to "teach her the ultimate lesson", the court heard.
During his trial, 49-year-old Clark had told jurors that comments about his manhood made him feel “inadequate” and “sad”.
Clark claimed his wife would "taunt" him and "say horrible things" and that she threatened to "headbutt him" and "bust his nose".
But the court heard the couple, who had been married since 2004, had a turbulent relationship and both engaged in extramarital affairs.
Prosecutors said Clark flew into a frenzy when his wife refused to rise to his own taunts after he text her lesbian partner's father — before sending Melanie a message saying, "f*** you b****".
He then stabbed Mrs Clark, 44, in the chest with a “dagger-shaped cook’s knife” before dialling 999 and confessing to killing her.
Police and paramedics rushed to their home after Clark told dispatchers: "I've killed my wife."
"She f***ing did my head in. I'm f***ing devastated. I don't know why I did it.”
Just minutes later two of Melanie's four sons from another marriage, Sheldon, 22, and Slade, 19, returned home from a party to find police swarming over their home.
Clark was arrested in blood-soaked pyjamas on his birthday at the three-bedroom house.
In court Clark, who moved with his wife to the UK in 2011, said her taunts made him feel "worthless".
His barrister asked him about a WhatsApp conversation, concerning a sex toy and his penis size, between him and his wife on January 18, 2016.
