Who is Marisa Papen?
She is a Belgian model who likes to pose naked. On her website, she describes herself as a "free-spirited, wildhearted expressionist".
She states people "shouldn't be afraid to express who they really are. Where they stay true to their own instinct. Where you can be authentic, pure and uncorrupted by society."
Speaking about the aim of her often racy photos, she said: “My intention is to make people see their bodies and the human body in a different way. The human body is a beautiful thing.”
When did the model pose nude at Jerusalem's Wailing Wall?
Marisa Papen took the cheeky snap from the roof-top of building in the ancient Middle Eastern city.
Papen said she was on a three-day trip to Israel that included visits to the Dead Sea, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem.
The model wrote that the photo was taken on Israel’s 70th Independence Day — apparently snapped around May 14.
The Belgian model said: "It was immediately clear to me that if we could manage to take a picture in front of or near the Wailing Wall, the whole trip would be a success.
"We got into a conversation with a super friendly guy, who turned out to be Muslim, and he invited us into his house where we drank coffee and mint tea."
When Papen and her photographer Mathias Lambrecht asked if they could visit his rooftop to take a photograph, the man gladly obliged.
She added: "I still had to explain that I wanted to take off my clothes for a picture.
“But he was even more chilled than we thought.”
Writing on her website, she said: "After my escapades in Egypt, I knew that I wanted to push the boundaries of religion and politics even further.
"Breaking down the walls that have been build to keep all our wandering souls on this planet somehow under control."
Western Wall Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovich said, “This is an embarrassing incident, grave and lamentable, which offends the sanctity of the site and the feelings of those who visit the holy places.”
