A BARMAID who exchanged sexual text messages with a married Tory MP said he should resign from parliament for treating her "like a piece of meat".

Barmaid Imogen Treharne thinks Andrew Griffifths should resign as an MPCredit: Supplied as a technical service. No is implied or inferred.

Griffiths resigned as Small Business minister at the weekend when he learned his lewd messages were about to be made public.

He issued an apology to his constituents, urging people to judge him on the achievements he made as an MP, "rather than a few moments of stupidity".

But Imogen, from Burton-Upon-Trent, is horrified that he has not apologised to her and her friend. She told the : "He’s resigned as a minister, but not as an MP. Why? The only people he hasn’t apologised to is us. Where’s our apology?

“It just confirms that he still just sees us as pieces of meat. He’s just saying sorry to the people affecting his future – not the people he’s actually been affecting.”

Griffiths' resignation statement

AFTER being caught out, Mr Griffiths issued this statement:

“I am deeply ashamed at my behaviour which has caused untold distress to my wife and family, to whom I owe everything, and deep embarrassment to the Prime Minister and the Government I am so proud to serve.

“Following discussions today with the Chief Whip, I have referred myself to the Conservative Party’s code of conduct procedures.

“I entirely accept that pending this investigation it is right the whip is withdrawn.

“I do not seek to excuse my behaviour and will be seeking professional help to ensure it never happens again.”

Imogen’s Instagram profile had caught his eye and he followed her for months.

The former adviser to the Prime Minister asked her and her friend to send him explicit videos and reportedly made perverted demands.

He also sent the two women £700 and offered to rent a flat for them so they could meet up for sex, according to the Sunday Mirror.

Messages sent by Griffiths to Imogen and her friend included: “I’m going to need something filthy to put a smile on my face. I want to see you both naked.

“Take off the bra and panties… you’ve got Daddy in such a frenzy."

The Sun understands that the shamed MP for Burton and Uttoxeter follows social media profiles belonging to a number of attractive young women.

On July 15, he and his wife Kate — who has recently had a baby — were not at their £300,000 constituency home.
