A CALLOUS moped mugger smiled today as he was caged for life after he killed a stranger for his £7,000 Rolex in Lawless London.

Jordan Bailey-Mascoll, 26, was one of two men who set upon Danny Pearce, 31, as he left Oliver's jazz club in Greenwich, South East London, with his girlfriend.

When the 31-year-old refused to hand over his watch, he was shot at before the thugs chased him down and stabbed him to death.

Bailey-Mascoll today smirked as he was jailed for life with a minimum of 35 years after he was found guilty of murder, possession of a firearm, possession of an imitation firearm and robbery.

The second assailant - known as Ghost - has never been found, Woolwich Crown Court heard today.

Judge Christopher Kinch QC said  the attack was "horrifying, brutalised, and sustained" that left Danny's pals "totally unprepared for the savagery which was about to erupt".

He added: "You did not give much thought to whether he lived or died."

The court heard Bailey-Mascoll, who has a lengthy criminal past, and Ghost drove around on a moped, targeting people with expensive watches.

One would carry a "particularly gruesome" hunting knife and the other brandished a gun as they terrorised the streets of the capital.

On July 15 at around 12.15am, Danny and girlfriend Stephanie Holland were returning to his car after a night out with another couple.

When the thugs demanded the watch, Stephanie chucked it at them but they still killed Danny anyway.

She wept as she told the court: "We were walking down the street and then two men both wearing balaclavas and motorcycle helmets come in front of us.

"I thought it was a joke at first but then when the gun was shot I just ran. The gun was shot several times.

Danny's devastated mum and sister beg for help in finding second killer

A very dangerous individual has been put behind bars for a very long time. He brutally murdered Danny, and thanks to the police he won't put another family through the hell we have been through.

As a family, we cannot use the word 'happy' because Danny is not here with us. But we do have some justice now because his killer is behind bars.

Please remember there is another offender out there that also needs to be found. He had as much involvement as Jordan Bailey-Mascoll. He is very dangerous and also need to be put behind bars.

If anyone out there knows anything please contact the police so both men are punished for taking away our Danny just for wearing a watch on a night out.

We would like to thank the police who managed to catch this evil person and I am sure they will catch the other person.

"I went away a little bit. I was scared. I saw the guy repeatedly stabbing Danny a lot of times. He just would not stop."

Chilling CCTV played to jurors during the trial showed the moped muggers following the couple down the street before they pounced.

They can be seen wrestling over a car bonnet before Danny is cornered and stabbed multiple times.

He suffered multiple stab wounds to his neck and chest and sadly died at the scene.

Danny's sister Amanda released an emotional statement revealing her heartbreak at not saying goodbye to her brother.

She said: "We did not get to say goodbye, but you did not go alone because part of us went with you.

"Shine like the bright star you are Dan."

The UK is currently in the grip of a street crime epidemic with more than 22,000 motorbike offences carried out in the capital alone last year – around 60 a day.

The shocking number of attacks is compared to just 1,053 in 2014 - a staggering 1,000 per cent increase in the past three years.
