FRIENDS and family have paid tribute to a British youngster who died hours after jetting into the Ibiza party resort of San Antonio.
Jack McDonnell, 22, shared a video on social media just four days ago of an Ibiza Rocks Hotel pool party and told friends: “Where I’ll be in 48 hours.”
Spanish officials have confirmed they are now probing whether drugs were involved in the young Brit's death.
Today loved ones were grieving the untimely death of the former business studies student from the West Midlands market town of Stafford.
Cousin Tom McDonnell said of his relative, known to friends as Bucky: “Jack was an amazing person, golden heart throughout.
"Anyone who knew him would have known he would have done anything for anyone, no matter who you were or where you came from. He would be his trueself.
“I honestly cannot put into words the feelings we have felt. Jack was not just a cousin but he was a brother to me.
"There are so many memories that we can look back on, but so many things in the future he will be looking down over us all and sending his love.
“You will always be my bright shining star. RIP Jack (Bucky) McDonnell, you will be so sadly missed by your friends and family.”
Brennie Harvey added: “Such tragic news, only worked with him a short time but he was always a top bloke. “Thoughts with your whole family.”
Former work colleague David Whitfield added: “Absolutely stunned to hear such sad news. Remembered him at work and taken far far too soon.”
Jack, who worked for a retail merchandising company, had arrived in Ibiza the night of his death and headed straight out to go partying with friends.
One pal took to social media ahead of the trip to write: “One week of chaos starts tomorrow.”
Other friends took time out to wish the tragic youngster a great holiday, with one joking: “Two days until Bucky goes broke in two nights. Have a good one lad.”
The holidaymaker was rushed to a health centre in San Antonio in the early hours of Friday morning by friends he was out with and members of a Christian charity who work on the streets in the high season.
He went into cardiac arrest shortly after arriving at the clinic following his earlier collapse. Health workers at the centre tried to save him with CPR.
