A 32-year-old man was arrested in connection with her disappearance but has since been released under investigation.

A nationwide search was launched to trace the midwife after she failed to show up for her shift on Friday night.

The hunt is focused on Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire despite initial suggestions she could be in Whitby, North Yorks.

Detectives have also been trawling through CCTV footage to establish if she boarded a train after sightings of her at a railway station at midday on Saturday.
