Samantha Eastwood, 28, was due to get married but family members claim the wedding 'fell through'
POLICE have released CCTV footage of the last confirmed sighting of missing midwife Samantha Eastwood.
The 28-year-old vanished just days after putting her unused wedding dress up for sale after her wedding "fell through".
Samantha was last seen by colleagues on Friday morning after clocking off from the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
She did not return for her next shift and a nationwide hunt was launched after worried family members contacted the police.
CCTV footage released by officers searching for the missing midwife show her and a colleague walking out of the hospital's maternity unit just before 7.45am on July 27.
In the images, Samantha is seen wearing blue scrubs and carrying a green handbag.
Further CCTV shows her driving her Volvo XC60 from the hospital car park heading towards the Hilton Road exit - this was the last time she was seen.
A 32-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of kidnap has since been bailed.
Forensic officers were searching her home in Stoke-on-Trent yesterday and a neighbour described hearing a scream from her home at 2pm on Friday.
And it has now emerged that the midwife was trying to sell her unused wedding dress for £400 before she disappeared.
She wrote on Marketplace: "Bought in sample sale. Not worn apart from being tried on in the shop.
"Size 14. In very good condition apart from a few loose threads and broken zip head (zip still works).
"Will consider offers. Ideally for collection."
Her mum Carole Eastwood, 59, shared her post and her uncle Barry, 61, from Macclesfield, Cheshire, confirmed she was due to get married.
He told the : "Samantha was going to get married but it fell through.
"She went to Keele University and she went down to Staffordshire and met a lad there. He has been out looking for her. I am concerned about Samantha though I have not seen her for a long time."
Detectives have been trawling through CCTV footage to establish if she boarded a train after sightings of her at a railway station at midday on Saturday.
A spokesman for the Royal Stoke University Hospital said: "Our friend and colleague Samantha Eastwood is missing.
“Samantha is a much-loved and valued member of our family and her colleagues are very concerned.
"We are appealing for anyone who has seen or heard from Samantha to get in touch with Staffordshire Police."
Samatha, who is from the Baddeley Green area, is described as white, around 5’3” tall and of medium build.
She has shoulder-length ginger hair, brown eyes and has a fair complexion with freckles.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Dan Ison, said: "We are continuing to treat this as a high risk missing person enquiry. Our only aim is for a safe return of Samantha.
“The arrest was part of our on-going enquiries.
"During any investigation of this nature, we would not rule anything out and need to explore all avenues with the aim of returning Samantha safe and well.
"We would ask Samantha herself if she is able to let us or her family know she is safe and well or if anyone has seen her or knows her whereabouts to contact us as soon as possible.
"She has now been missing since Friday and we are growing increasingly concerned."
