Tariq followed in his father’s footsteps, as he had owned a clothes shop in Bristol after working as a bus driver.
Abdul-Ghani Javid’s business was called Scallywags, and was in the middle of a notoriously crime-ridden part of the West Country city.
Sajid has previously joked about seeing a prostitute standing outside the shop as a child.
He has previously spoken about growing up in a cramped two-bedroom flat, saying: “Three brothers were in one bedroom, and myself and a younger brother were with my parents in the other.”
Mr Javid’s other brothers are Basit, a senior police officer in the West Midlands, Khalis, a financial adviser, and Atif, a multimillionaire property tycoon.
