British man on FBI’s Most Wanted list over precious metals scam allegation in Florida
James Ward, 65, is wanted for his alleged involvement in a scheme that offered investors bogus deals on precious metals in Florida between September 2007 - March 2010
A GLASGOW man accused of running a precious metals fraud scheme has been placed on the FBI's "most wanted" list.
James Ward, 65, is wanted for his alleged involvement in a scheme that offered investors bogus deals on precious metals in Florida between September 2007 - March 2010.
The FBI reports that Ward allegedly operated a fake firm named Kastle & Hawk Inc, which solicited investors to buy precious metals such as gold, silver and platinum.
Instead of investing the $400,000 (£314,000) he reportedly raked in from at least 12 investors, he allegedly spent the cash while no metals were ever purchased.
He went on the run after he was charged with wire fraud in Florida in 2012.
He is described as white, 5ft 8ins with blond hair - though he may have changed his hair colour.
He may be travelling anywhere in the UK, but may also head to Canada or Mexico.
