A YOUNG mum and a man have died after a horror crash with three more left in a serious condition in hospital.
Shiva Devine and Conall McAleer, both in their 20s, were killed when they were thrown from the back seat of a car which crashed early on Sunday in Bundoran, Co Donegal, Ireland.
Two other men were seriously injured and a young mother was fighting for life .
One friend of Miss Devine said: “Shiva was lovely both inside and out and she always had a smile on her face.
“She was kind and considerate and very popular."
A friend of Mr McAleer wrote on social media: “Rest easy squeak x.”
None of the four travelling in the back of the blue Peugeot 306 when it hit a wall and then a lamp post at Eastend in the seaside village was wearing a seatbelt.
The six people in the Northern Ireland-registered car had been out socialising earlier in the evening and were understood to be travelling to the village of Belleek in Co Fermanagh where some of them lived.
Ms Devine lived in Belleek but was originally from Donegal while Conall McAleer was from across the border in Co Fermanagh.
The seriously injured female, who is from Tyrone, was initially thought to have passed away in hospital.
She was treated for serious injuries at Sligo General Hospital before being transferred to as relatives prayed for her to pull through.
All four victims were found lying side-by-side at the scene.
It is understood the car may have clipped a kerb before it lost control.
The noise of the impact alerted locals who contacted the emergency services who were on the scene quickly. Ambulance personnel, Gardai and members of the fire service attended.
Ambulance personnel attempted CPR but Ms Devine and Mr McAleer were pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardai could not initially find the driver of the car as he left the scene. It is understood the man went to a mobile home which is owned by relatives in the locality.
They convinced him to return to the scene and a short time later he presented himself to gardai.
A spokesman said: “A man in his 20s arrested by Gardai investigating a fatal traffic collision in Bundoran in the early hours has been released without charge. A file will be prepared for the DPP.
“Two men in their 20s seriously injured in the collision are continuing to receive treatment at Sligo University Hospital, while the woman in her 20s critically injured transferred to Beaumont Hospital.”
The local coroner has been notified and post mortems will be carried out at the mortuary in Sligo University Hospital tomorrow.
Local Donegal councillor Michael Naughton said: “This is very sad news and a very sad time for the families involved. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families.
“Bundoran is a seaside resort and a Saturday night is a big night in Bundoran.
“It’s the highlight of the week and it coming to a devastating end like this just brings everything back to reality. It’s tragic.”
