Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab is right that without a deal the post-Brexit divorce bill will ‘not be paid’
Brussels has proven how clueless they really are when they admit they don't have a Plan B, but then they expect us to still pay
Money talks
WHAT will Brussels do without our billions? Er . . . it hasn’t a clue.
Its budget chief says there’s no Plan B. They’re relying on us carrying on paying.
Which betrays incredible complacency. And shows why we would be insane to help them out by handing over a bean without anything in return.
There is steel behind Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab’s threat that without a deal the exit “bill” will not be paid in “the same shape, or speed, or rate”. We need that strength from Theresa May.
She cannot compromise beyond her already over-generous Chequers offer without fatal damage to her Government.
Her ex-guru Nick Timothy is publicly warning her off, and rightly so.
Our approach has been compromised by fear. It needs to be replaced by belief and confidence: we will thrive come what may.
Left the Field
SO one Labour MP at least has some guts. Frank Field could stand it no longer.
It wasn’t just the Jew-hating racism of Corbyn and his goons. Field couldn’t bear the infiltration by Trotskyite thugs who vilify those they consider enemies.
He and John Woodcock, who has already resigned the whip, are two of the best MPs Labour had. As for the other moderates, where’s their backbone?
They remain . . . as the enablers of Corbyn and his rancid wrecking crew.
Coward’s plea
SPEEDBOAT killer Jack Shepherd is making a mockery of our justice system. His appeal must not be heard.
It is jaw-dropping that this arrogant idiot could flee before his manslaughter trial, then appeal against conviction from some unknown foreign bolthole.
No court should hear it. It would give any criminal a licence to do the same.
Shepherd’s lawyers may not have a duty to divulge his whereabouts. But it would be morally wrong not to tell him to return to face the music. They should not represent him until he does.
This coward killed a woman through drunken negligence. Now he sickeningly aims to cheat her family of justice.
Google shame
HOW shameful it will be if Google censors its searches to make billions in China.
Not just because the Chinese should be freely able to use the web. But because Google and YouTube host child abuse images, terror videos and other dangerous content here which they fail, or even refuse, to delete.
Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt was dead right to call out the tech giants, who have snubbed an international meeting to discuss a crackdown.
Is the problem simply that there’s no money in it for them?
