TESLA stocks plummeted SIX per cent after CEO Elon Musk smoked marijuana live on YouTube - days after a British diver revealed he planned to sue the billionaire.
The Tesla chief, 47, puffed on a joint during his chat on the Joe Rogan Experience amid a pending law suit from Vern Unsworth who Musk publicly branded a "paedophile."
The stunt wiped a staggering £3.2billion from the car company's value.
Assuming that the South African-born businessman would not accept, the podcast host said: “'You probably can't do this because of stockholders, right?”
But to Rogan’s surprise, Musk reached over and took a drag from the joint saying that the drug was legal in the state of California.
The pair also enjoyed whiskey while chatting about the tycoon’s many business interests including his flamethrower product which Musk admitted was inspired by the 1987 movie Spaceballs.
Musk has made headline in recent weeks after he accused Unsworth, who helped rescue 12 schoolboys from a cave in Thailand, of being a paedophile.
Despite repeating the unsubtrainated allegation in public, Musk spoke about the importance of being kind with Rogan.
He said: “Be nicer to each other. Don't assume someone is mean. It's easy to demonise people.”
Unsworth is a British expat who lives near the Tham Luang cave network in Thailand where 12 boys and their football coach were trapped from June 23 until July 10.
He was scathing of Musk's offer to send a mini-submarine to help in the rescue efforts, which he dismissed as "just a PR stunt".
Musk hit back at Vern in a bizarre series of tweets, some of which he later deleted.

He claimed it was suspicious the expat lived in Thailand before explicitly branding him a "paedo".
After apologising for the slur, he took to Twitter again on August 28, this time to question why diver Vern hasn't sued him in wake of the remarks.
The billionaire this week labelled the cave diver a "child rapist" in a rambling email to reporters - prompting the Brit to reveal he is planning to sue Musk in three different countries.
