Reckless driver caught brazenly eating a bowl of CEREAL at the wheel on main road near Manchester
A RECKLESS driver was caught on camera brazenly eating a bowl of CEREAL at the wheel while driving on a main road near Manchester.
The footage was shot by a motorcyclist wearing a dashcam as he made his way to work on Monday morning.
The motorbike rider is seen following the red Ford Fiesta in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester.
As he catches up with him and pulls alongside he's shocked to find the driver of the car eating a bowl of cereal.
The man appeared to have no hands on the wheel, with one grasping a bowl and the other shovelling spoonfuls of breakfast into his mouth.
The rider says he sees this sort of commuter behaviour every day on his way to work.
He then records the examples on his dashcam and shares them to dangerous driving YouTube channel Dashcam on 2 Wheels.
The biker, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: “I see that many idiots every day. They don’t know what they are putting at risk, people’s lives and their jobs. I see something every day.”
The incident has not been reported to the police.
It is technically not illegal to eat and drive at the same time, even though it is illegal to pay for a McDonald’s drive-thru with your mobile phone.
A study by the University of Leeds found motorists who ate while driving were 44 per cent slower than usual.
