Runaway dad who dodged child support for a decade caught when ex sees him handed £125k Postcode Lottery win on TV
Stella Davis, 44, was stunned to spot her grinning ex Richard Bailey, 43, being handed the massive cheque
A DAD who dodged child support payments for ten years was finally traced when his ex saw him winning £125,000 on the Postcode Lottery on TV.
Stella Davis, 44, was stunned to spot grinning Richard Bailey, 43, being handed the massive cheque.
The barmaid and son Owen, 17, have not seen the lorry driver since 2008 and she claims he owes her £3,065.22.
Stella had no idea where he was living until she saw him and new wife Lisa, 44, being handed the cheque by former X Factor star Danyl Johnson last Sunday.
Richard says in the ad: “Brilliant. Time for a party I reckon.”
Stella told The Sun: “We haven’t heard from him in ten years, not even a Christmas card.
“The Child Support Agency has been chasing him but the only payment was £5.57 three years ago.” Student Owen added: “I was speechless. I’d forgotten what he looked like.”
Stella, of Godalming, Surrey, split from Richard when Owen was 18 months old.
She said he cut off all contact when he got together with Lisa and moved away.
Stella vowed to chase her ex-husband for the money he owes.
Last night Richard, of Mansfield, Notts, declined to comment.
A spokeswoman for the Department for Work and Pensions said they do not comment on individual cases.
