A GIRLFRIEND stabbed her boyfriend to death after he stripped off and got into a hot tub with other girls after she'd warned "don't you dare", a court has heard.

Demi Harris, 21, has been accused of murdering her 39-year-old boyfriend Christopher Pearson at his home in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire.

Harris is on trial at Nottingham Crown Court and denies the murder.

The court heard that Harris saw her boyfriend in his boxers about to climb into a hot tub before she shouted from the window: "Are you actually getting naked whilst other girls are there?"

Mr Pearson was one of three men in the tub at a party in February this year at his three-bedroom semi-detached house in Strathmore Close, the court heard.

There were also women present, including one stripped down to her underwear and another sat on the rim of the tub with her feet in the water, the court was told.

Michael Auty QC, prosecuting, told the jury Harris shouted "watch this" before pouring a bottle of solvent into the tub before switching off the power, prosecutors said.

He told the court: "She came so close she found herself being pulled into the hot-tub fully-clothed."

The guests left and Mr Pearson followed Harris naked into the house, the court was told.

One of the women heard Harris say: "What have I done? What have I done?," it was said.

Allegedly, Mr Pearson was lying on his back, with his torso on the landing and his legs on the bathroom floor, mumbling: "What's happened?"

Mr Auty said: "Miss Harris then volunteered, 'I've gone too far this time'.

"In those few words she encapsulates the prosecution case. He began to slip in and out of consciousness and it was plain that he was fading fast.

"Asked what happened, Miss Harris replied, 'I've stabbed him, but I had to, I had to'. She went on to explain that she had used a knife that she had got from his 'top drawer' and that 'I had to because he attacked me'.

"She instinctively knew that he was close to death and repeatedly said, 'He's going to die, he's going to die'".

The court heard paramedics came to the house and tried to stabilise Mr Pearson.

He was taken to hospital and treated for two stomach wounds.

After three blood transfusions and surgery, he died of stab wound injuries.

Harris was arrested walking to her mum's home but denies murder,.

She allegedly told police he had threatened to kill her.

She said she ran upstairs but he caught hold of her ankle and violently pushed her into their bedroom where she fell against the bedside cabinet.

She had picked up the knife and managed to walk part-way past Mr Pearson, it was said.

She said: "I just wanted to get past him and if that meant him grabbing me and me jabbing him with it, just a jab, not a stab, not a puncher; just a quick prick, so it shocks him to move out of the way, so I've got enough time to get down the stairs."

The trial continues.
