CHIP shops have been warned not to serve morbidly obese takeaway fan - after doctors warned he was eating himself to death.

Posters featuring Darren McClintock's photo have been put up in fast food outlets around his home town warning "Do Not Serve This Man".

Darren, 27, better known as Dibsy, has teamed up with trainer Mike Hind to turn his life around after a "life or death" health scare.

And, although he will still be allowed treats, he hopes the leaflets will help him keep his vow to ditch fast food.

The leaflets distributed around Middlesborough read: "Save Dibsy, Obesity Is Killing Him. Do Not Serve This Man".

Dibsy has to book two seats on a plane if he wants to go abroad and says his weight means he can’t learn to drive. He also has to order clothes that are specially sized - at an extra cost.

He added: “I have struggled with my weight all my life, I have tried all sorts. There have been points where I have got down. I have let myself down massively.

“I have been given this one chance, I’m going to make the most of it, I’m going to seize every opportunity I have got.”

Mike said: "The next six or seven weeks is going to get difficult for Dibsy.

"What I want Dibsy to do is come to me for support and advice - he's used to turning to takeaways."

Each year Mike takes on a client for free in a bid to turn their life around and receives around a thousand applications but was drawn to Dibsy when he saw him with his mum at his gym's diner.

"His mum burst out crying and said no parent would want to bury her child," Mike said.

It was then he decided to take on the challenge to help Dibsy lose weight.
