CELEBS and legends from the rap and hip-hop world have reacted in fury at Kanye West's bizarre meeting with Donald Trump.

The US President was stunned into silence yesterday as West hugged him and said: “I love this guy” - but the surreal scene sparked criticism and even claims the star was suffering from a mental illness.

The rapper wore his “Make America Great Again” hat during the pair’s meeting in the Oval Office, where he ranted about a wide range of subjects – and even advised Trump to dump Air Force One.

The topic of West’s potential future presidential career was also raised – with the star suggesting that could happen “only after 2024”.

“Let’s stop worrying about the future, all we have is today. Trump is on his hero’s journey right now.

He might not have thought he’d have a crazy motherf***** like [me],” the musician added.

But the show of love between West and Trump did not go down well among the rapper's fellow stars.

Rapper 50cent was among those who slammed the meeting.

On Instagram, he posted a mock-up image that lampooned Trump as a superhero, saying: "You make me feel like Superman, Obama said l was a idiot f*** these n***** l'm wit you Master.

"Let’s make America great again LOL. Get the strap.";

Writing alongside a screenshot of an image on Rolling Stone magazine's cover, he also said: "This is not Hip Hop this is mental illness."

Meanwhile, hip-hop star T.I publicly unfriended West on Instagram.

He said: "This is the most repulsive, disgraceful, embarrassing act of desperation & auctioning off of one’s soul to gain power I’ve ever seen.

"You ass kissing and boot licking on a whole new level &I refuse to associate myself with something so vile, weak & inconsiderate to the effect this has on the greater good of ALL OUR PEOPLE!!!!

And musical mogul P Diddy tweeted: "Somebody tell this n**** to give me a call!

Comedian Chelsea Handler also called out West after he bizarrely described the president as a father figure to him.

She said: "Kanye West says he thinks of Trump as a father. Guess who doesn’t think of Kanye as a son?"

Power couple Beyonce and Jay-Z have yet to make a comment, but on Tuesday it they allegedly announced they have decided to sever ties with the rapper and his reality star wife, Kim Kardashian West, because of West's support for Trump.

But talk show host Montel Williams expressed concern from West's mental health.

He tweeted: "As I said Tuesday, Kanye’s struggling right now, and having him to the WH was exploitative."

At one point, West was seen unlockeing his mobile, appearing to use the password 000000 to show the room a new idea for a presidential vehicle.

He said: “We have to bring jobs into America because our best export is entertainment and ideas, but when we make everything in China and not America, we are cheating our country.”

Trump – who remained silent for several minutes during West’s 10-minute-long monologue – remarked: “I tell you what, that was pretty impressive folks… that was quite something.”

The musician replied: “It was from the soul, I just channelled it.”

The Press Association described it as a “frantic meeting”.

Referencing Trump as a father figure, West told reporters the commander-in-chief gave him a “Superman cape” to help him “do good”.

He added: “My dad and my mom separated so there was not a lot of male energy in my home and also I’m married to a family where, you know, there’s not a lot of male energy. It’s beautiful though.”

West also advocated bringing more manufacturing jobs to the US and mentioned Apple as one of the companies which could help build the vehicle, said the Press Association.

During his extensive rant, the rapper insisted he had been misdiagnosed as bipolar, and was actually suffering from sleep deprivation.

Explaining that he had a “98 percentile IQ test”, West said a doctor told him: “I wasn’t actually bipolar; I had sleep deprivation which can cause dementia 10 to 20 years from now, when I wouldn’t even remember my son’s name.”

Chatting with the former reality TV star, 72, about prison reform, jobs and reducing gang violence in Chicago, West warned Trump that “stop-and-frisk does not help relationships in the city”.

The president replied that he would “look at” the issue.

West saw Trump sign the Music Modernisation Act, a sweeping bill long called for by the industry.

The act includes guarantees artists will receive payments for pre-1972 recordings and improve payments for streamed songs.

West, who also met Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner, has been criticised for supporting the president.

In April, he angered his fans and even wife Kim Kardashian when he expressed his "love"for the US president.

The outspoken rapper, who visited Trump Tower in 2016 following the billionaire’s sensational election victory, has previously called the Republican "my brother".

He claimed he and Trump have "dragon energy", tweeting: "You don’t have to agree with Trump but the mob can’t make me not love him."

Their unconventional bromance stretches back to September 2015 when Trump was already causing a stir in the Republican primaries.

Mr Trump recently tweeted praise for West, who closed a Saturday Night Live show wearing his "Make America Great Again" cap.

He also delivered an unscripted pro-Trump message after the cameras stopped rolling.

Prior to their meeting, Kardashian had revealed West planned to discuss "exciting things" with Donald Trump.

"I will try to help him communicate. I always say he isn't the best communicator, but he has the best heart. I know what he wants to accomplish... and I can't wait to see that happen."

Later, Kanye was spotted at an Apple store in Georgetown, where he was filmed climbing onto a signature wooden table filled with test products.

He asked if he could give customers a "keynote" speech, according to a  reporter who was there at the time.

It was unclear whether he was in store for tech support after unveiling his PIN code on national TV, but he was seen shaking hands and hugging staff.
