Princess Eugenie wedding – Prince Philip looks in great health at the Royal Wedding as he makes last minute appearance with the Queen
PRINCE Philip looked the picture of health as he made a last minute appearance at the Royal Wedding today with the Queen.
The 97-year-old hadn’t confirmed whether he would be attending Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.
But he was a last-minute addition to the 850 guests inside the chapel and appeared to be in great health as he followed the Queen in.
The Duke of Edinburgh shared a joke with Prince Charles as he waited for his granddaughter to arrive this morning.
He also walked unaided into the chapel following a hip operation in April.
It was also unclear whether he would attend the wedding because of long-running tensions with Eugenie’s mum Sarah Ferguson following her divorce from his son.
Philip officially retired from royal duties in 2017 but the Palace confirmed he would still attend events with the Queen.
Her Majesty was among members of the Royal Family at the wedding today – looking elegant in an Angela Kelly ensemble.
Eugenie arrived with her dad Prince Andrew in the same Rolls Royce as Kate Middleton did for her 2011 wedding to Prince Harry.
Her sister and maid-of-honour Princess Beatrice arrived with mum Sarah Ferguson to cheers from the crowd.
The newlyweds listened to a stunning rendition of Ava Maria at the church after exchanging vows in front of the crowd of A-listers and the Queen.
Meghan Markle, stunning in a blue Givenchy outfit, was one of the last to arrive with husband Prince Harry, while the Queen wore light blue.
The Duchess of Cambridge also arrived by Prince William’s side, struggling like her fellow guests to keep her dress under control due to the strong winds.
Princess Eugenie, 28, said she was nervous ahead of her big day – but said she couldn’t wait to exchange vows with her boyfriend of seven years.
In an interview with Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, who will anchor coverage of the royal wedding on ITV, the couple described the moment they met for the first time.
Brooksbank said: “We were skiing in a friend’s place out in Switzerland, and [looking at Eugenie] I saw you first, didn’t I? And we just stared at each other.”

“I remember being like, ‘I really, really like this guy, I really want him to like me too,’ and then you gave me this huge windscreen wiper wave and that was it, right, he likes me.”
Jack described Eugenie as a “bright shining light”.
While Eugenie admitted the whole thing was “nerve-wracking and a bit scary” she added: “At the end of the day you get to marry the person you love… and you’re going to be at the end of the aisle, and I’m going to be running towards you.”
