TRAGIC TWIST

Crimea college shooting nurse who treated bloodied victims ‘tries to kill herself after realising gunman was her SON’

A NURSE treating the mutilated victims of the Crimea school bomb and gun attack reportedly tried to kill herself after learning her son was behind the bloodbath.

Galina Roslyakova was providing emergency care to horrifically wounded youngsters who began flooding into the hospital where she worked.

But while doing so, police arrived to tell her the carnage - which has left 21 dead - was actually the work of her 18-year-old son Vladislav.

She then tried to kill herself but was stopped by officers who led her away for questioning, it has been reported.

Some of those injured suffered horrific gunshot wounds after being shot at point blank range in the school in the Black Sea city of Kerch yesterday.

Many others were ripped to shreds, with feet and limbs blown off after being caught up in the blast of the bomb that was packed with shrapnel.

Crimean Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova said: "The kids' muscles have been 'minced' with small metal objects.

"Those who have their organs ripped apart, we are finding metal balls in kidneys, intestines, in blood vessels.

“That is how powerful the blast was."

Mrs Skvortsova spoke of the severity of injuries some of the victims have sustained.

She said: "All of them have leg traumas, either torn legs, torn veins, limbs torn away."

Ten teenagers were today said to be in intensive care, five of were in a grave condition and five more in comas.

Mrs Skvortsova said: “All ten went through surgeries and by this morning, 44 people were in hospital.

“All the wounded people were identified and parents are with their children.”

The death toll from the shooting climbed to 21 today after another body was found and one of the wounded died in hospital.

The first victim will be buried later today.

Children’s ombudsman Irina Klyueva said that investigators would carefully study what might have provoked Roslyakov.

The influence of his family, college, friends and social networks would be evaluated.

Pro-Kremlin Komsomolskaya Pravda (KP) newspaper gave several theories after interviewing locals.

One was that he had rowed with his first girlfriend, who he had been seen with in the days before the attack.

Another theory is that he was a fan of violent computer games.

A third version portrays the boy as an “outcast” humiliated by his family’s “poverty” and his “poor clothes”.

Other reports have suggested the attack - like others on schools and colleges in Russia - has a copycat element from the 1999 Columbine High School massacre in the US.
