There would be outcry if Vote Leave linked suicide to Brexit like Remainers

May’s moment
A POSTER at the “people’s vote” protest joked that the Government appointed a suicide minister because of Brexit.
One in four Brits suffers from mental illness. Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45.
This crass attempt at linking suicide and Brexit is shameful. We should be breaking down mental health stigmas, not mocking sufferers.
Imagine the outcry if Vote Leave had been so wickedly vulgar.
Alastair Campbell, who has bravely spoken before about his mental health battles, changed his tune about protests this weekend.
The former Labour spin doctor dismissed the Iraq War demonstrators in 2003 as “full of self-righteousness”.
How strange, then, that he now believes Saturday’s protest should influence government policy.
What Campbell and the anti-Brexit brigade conveniently ignore is that there was a people’s vote in which 17.4million people voted Leave in 2016.
Meanwhile, Theresa May faces a potentially bruising week as speculation mounts over a leadership challenge.
In today’s Sun, however, she defiantly calls on her party to back her, saying “the finish line is in sight”.
Good to hear you say it, PM. It is vital that the Tories support her. There is no coronation candidate to replace her.
She adds she will get a Brexit deal that works for our country.
Britain will not be fooled, PM. We WILL hold you to it.
Brute farce
SAUDI Arabia’s claim that journalist Jamal Khashoggi died during a fist fight is utter codswallop.
The oppressive regime has continually changed its story.
Khashoggi was tortured, dismembered and murdered — hardly actions that follow a punch-up.
We accept Britain needs Saudi oil and we value the billions they spend on our weapons.
But ordinary Brits feel revulsion at this barbarism.
Our major allies supported us in a coordinated diplomatic response against Vladimir Putin after Salisbury. It is right we do the same now.
No civilised country can ignore this brutal murder.
Those responsible must face justice.
Pull the plug
IT is shocking that the Ministry of Defence is spending so much on electricity.
How can it be right they are paying £38 to boil a kettle?
