Fury as US hunter shoots goats and stags on Scottish island
American Larysa Switlyk shared a series of images showing off 'medals' from her hunts in Scotland
A US hunter sparked fury after posing for pictures with wild animals including goats and stags killed on a blood sports trip to Scotland.
TV host Larysa Switlyk, 33, and pals shared images of themselves dressed in combat gear surrounded by the dead animals.
Last night she was slammed for showcasing the carcasses to her 75,000 Instagram followers and boasting how “fun” it had been.
Mike Russell, MSP for Argyll, said last night: “The image of hunters in military camouflage, armed with high powered rifles to kill a stag is bad enough, but hunting a sheep is frankly ridiculous.”
Switlyk arrived in Islay and Argyll earlier this month and has since posted pics of two dead goats, a ram and at least three deer.
She also shared a snap of a meal prepared with the meat of one stag.
In her latest pic of a man posing next to a slain goat she said: “Congrats on Jason on his gold medal goat here in Scotland on Islay."
In another post she added: “Proud of Jason and his second monstrous Red Stag here in Scotland…talk about gold medal status.
"Was fun to be behind the camera and capturing it all on film. Amazing hunting here in the Highlands.”
In another post showing a wild goat, she bragged: “Made a perfect 200 yard shot and dropped him.”
Switlyk works for Texas-based Detail Company Adventures, who boast customers can “kill it, catch it or film it”.
Hunting certain animals in designated areas is legal in Scotland. But last night politicians and celebs called for a ban.
Tennis star Andy Murray’s mum Judy led the outrage. She fumed: “A unique hunt? Disgraceful. It’s a goat. And it’s in Scotland, on a beautiful island. Stop this please @scotgov.”
Comic Ricky Gervais tweeted an expletive-filled attack.

And radio star Nicky Campbell tweeted: “Please don’t take this the wrong way, but you are a twisted sicko.”
Green MSP Mark Ruskell said the “barbaric actions” must push ministers to ban blood sports.
But Scottish Gamekeepers Association chairman Alex Hogg said: “Species control always generates public opinion and controversy.”
