BREXIT DEAL 'IN DAYS'

Brexiteer MPs fear a Brexit ‘sell-out’ amid reports that Theresa May is just days away from agreeing a deal

BREXITEER MPs feared a “sell-out” amid reports that Theresa May is days away from a deal.

Ministers believe the PM plans to bounce them into backing a fudged divorce settlement which will keep Britain in the customs union.

A source said: “At some stage she is going to have to put a package on the table and say it’s the best she can get.

"When that happens, everyone is going to have to decide whether to get behind it or take a walk.”

MPs expect Mrs May will have enough details tied down to put to her Cabinet in the next week or two — and she will aim for a Commons vote by the end of the month.

Downing Street insisted that no deal has been reached and negotiations with the EU are ongoing.

But an insider close to the process said it looked like Britain would be bound to a customs union and single market for goods until the Irish border problem is resolved.

One ex-minister said: “As it’s looking, the EU will hold all the cards for future economic partnership negotiations.”

Another added: “It is on course to be a catastrophe. But will enough people in the Cabinet have the guts to say no?”
