What has Tekashi 6ix9ine been charged with?

Rapper Tekashi 69 - real name Daniel Hernandez - has been arrested by federal agents on racketeering, weapons and drug charges.

The hip hop star seems to attract trouble, having also been hospitalised earlier this year after he was pistol-whipped, kidnapped and robbed of nearly £600,000.

His November 2018 arrest came a month after the rapper avoided jail time after he pleaded guilty to "the use of a child in a sexual performance" after posting a video in 2015.

For that offence he was given four years probation and community service - avoiding a possibly three year spell behind bars.

Only hours after receiving that sentence, Hernandez was involved in a shooting incident at a posh restaurant in upmarket Manhattan.

Tekashi was not injured but his bodyguard was rushed to hospital.

Tekashi 6ix9ine has reportedly rejected the offer of witness protection despite snitching on his gang pals - because he loves his fame.

The shock news comes after it was revealed the tattooed bad boy grassed on his old Bloods crew just a day after he was arrested by cops.

Tekashi took to the witness stand at the trial of two 'members' of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.

He cut a more demure figure than usual trading his usual loud outfits for a dark blue prison jumpsuit as he ratted out two of his former pals.

Tekashi testified about the various acts of violence he says he witnessed while running with the gang, including shootings, assaults and drug trafficking.

As part of a deal with prosecutors, he listed off the people he ran with in Nine Trey, name-checking Jim Jones and even Cardi B in the process.

The 'Bodak Yellow' singer later took to Twitter to clarify she is a member of the Brim Bloods – but is not associated with Nine Trey.

However, despite his betrayals Tekashi has reportedly refused the offer of witness protection -  a move some are calling a "death wish."

he has chosen fame over his own safety as he believes he can pick up where he left off when he is eventually freed from jail.
