A CHIPPY selling festive pigs in blankets has DOUBLED the size of them this year.
Bestwood Fisheries in Nottingham have taken the traditional sausage-wrapped-in-bacon Christmas dinner staple to a whole new level.
The colossal banger is a foot-long, wrapped in bacon, battered and deep-fried.
The family-run chippy in Arnold Road is the first to put a twist on its battered sausages last year.
Co-owner Antoni Tsiolas, who mans the fryers with cousin George Keliris, said: "A lot of people are excited about them again. They love them.
"The best thing is they were asking in July for them."
Each sausage is wrapped in three rashers of smoked bacon, then dipped in batter and fried for ten minutes.
Antoni added: "They're good for sharing. I couldn't even guess how many calories they have."
Customers can have a six-inch pig for £1.90 or a foot-long one for £2.90. With chips and a side it's £4 to £5.
Pigs-in-blankets superfans also have the chance to get paid £500 for a tasting session in Manchester's The Oast House.
