‘HE’S SO ATTRACTIVE’

Fraudsters posing as Chris Hemsworth convince lonely woman, 42, Hollywood heartthrob has fallen in love with her in £11.5k romance scam

The mum-of-two thought she had been contacted by Chris Hemsworth's lawyer who asked her for money

A LONELY woman was conned out of £11,500 after thinking Hollywood heartthrob Chris Hemsworth had fallen for her when he saw her pictures on social media.

The 42-year-old Russian was convinced that she was receiving intimate messages from the “attractive” married star.

Police in Siberia are probing how the naive mum-of-two was duped by web fraudsters who set up a social media account in the Australian heartthrob’s name.

Desperate for love, the unnamed woman took a loan for £11,500 believing it would lead to her having a romantic tryst with the star - in part by paying for “parking” for his private jet at her local airport in Irkutsk.

The cruel hoax led to the woman - who said she was going through “problems” in her marriage - talking online for two months to her admirer “Chris Hemsworth” who she convinced herself was also “very lonely”.

The first message to the housewife in English read: “Hey, I am Chris Hemsworth, I am a famous actor from Australia, I live in California. You are so pretty, can we chat?”

He claimed to have seen her pictures on social media, and she fell for the trick.

She confessed her previously strong marriage had become beset by “serious arguments”.

“Our relations went quite sour, and just then the actor sent me a message on Twitter,” said the woman from Irkutsk.

“I am not a fan, but he is still a very attractive man.

“I checked him online and saw that he was married and had three children.

“I thought, what if he was in the same situation as I was, that on the face of it we were both married and at the same time very lonely.”

Chris and Liam Hemsworth's sibling rivalry is hilarious

He proposed meeting her in Australia but then said he would fly in for a romantic tryst in Siberia.

An Irkutsk city police source said: “The woman said that she was separately contacted by the actor’s lawyer, who told her that ‘Chris’ was going through temporary financial difficulties.

“He needed money to pay for a visa, insurance and parking for his private jet in Siberia.

“The lawyer asked her to transfer money and sent her Chris’s driving license as a guarantee of a pay back.”

She was duped and sent the money - after secretly taking out a loan behind her husband's back.

But "Chris" suddenly stopped writing.

“Then his social media accounts were abruptly deleted,” reported .

“Police are poised to open a criminal case into the sad swindle.”

It is unclear if the woman’s husband is aware of the scandal.

Police have not revealed the messages that flowed between her and the trickster she believed was her Hollywood star.

A police statement read: “We urge everyone not to stay in contact with strangers and not to send anything to people you are not familiar with."
