A HUGE kangaroo twice the size of his mates and boasting colossal muscles has been spotted in Australia.
After local animal rescue workers in Melbourne spotted the massive roo, they noticed that he was carrying a serious injury.
cofounder Manfred Zabinskas that "a large open wound could be seen on his arm" and workers set about tranquillising the kangaroo.
"Fortunately, he was in an ideal position for me to sneak up and dart him from behind cover of bushes at the front of the house," Zabinskas said.
"He was huge, and I prepared a big dart. He sensed something was going on and stood and I fired. It was a perfect hit."
Although after being shot with the dart, the kangaroo - who rescuers have dubbed Hugh Hefner - tried to flee.
"[He] paused to give me a dirty look," Zabinskas said.
"He knew I had something to do with the sharp pain in his bum and he wasn’t happy. He continued to hop off and stopped further down the yard as the drugs started to take effect.
"He appeared to be well sedated and I approached [... but] Hugh was only pretending, and he leapt up and was mobile again."
The roo was then hit with a second dart, and eventually collapsed.
Hugh Hefner, who weighed nearly 200 pounds, was then taken to a vet so his injuries could be treated.
"Hugh is doing really well and is getting on with all of our other kangaroos in the enclosure," Zabinskas told
"His wound is healing extremely well."
