Footballer sparks outrage after ‘blacking up’ for team’s fancy dress Christmas night out

A FOOTBALLER has sparked a race row after "blacking up" for his team's Christmas night out.
Dundee United star Jamie Robson was pictured with his skin painted black while wearing a high-vis waistcoat and multi-coloured umbrella hat over the weekend.
The 20-year-old defender can also be seen holding signs advertising cheap sunglasses and bracelets.
One of the signs says “cheap as chips!” and the other reads “buy 1 get 5 free”.
Dundee manager Robbie Neilson has vowed to take action and an investigation has been launched by the club.
He said: “I spoke to him briefly this morning.
“The standards at this football club have to be kept at the highest level.
“We will chat again later today with him and the club will deal with it in house.
“He is employee of the football club so there is confidentiality there as well but everyone has to remember they are representing the club and the fans.”
The image was widely criticised by users on social media after it emerged.
One wrote: "There’s been a far too casual approach to racism, sexism and homophobia by @ScottishFA @spfl Hope @dundeeunitedfc investigate Jamie Robson properly."
Another said: "Jamie Robson must think he’s untouchable, has to get the sack now after that photo plus the drink driving. Rocket".
