THOMAS Markle has today revealed he texts his daughter Meghan everyday in an attempt to reconnect with his daughter who has 'ghosted' him.
The 74-year-old said he still held out hope the Duchess of Sussex would reach out to him, despite months of radio silence.
In an interview with Good Morning Britain, Thomas Markle revealed: "I've been trying to reach out for several weeks, every day I try to text her."
He said he had also sent letters to his 37-year-old daughter, but was yet to hear back.
Thomas added: "I've been ghosted. I'm not sure why it's happening. I love my daughter very much. I wish she would reach out, send me a text, anything."
And the American said he would keep trying to speak with pregnant Meghan, saying the rift between them "can't continue forever".
Asked if he had a message for Harry and Meghan, Mr Markle said: "I love you very much, you're my daughter and I would really like to hear from you.
"Whatever differences we have, we should be able to work them out."
He also revealed hopes he would be able to meet his daughter's future baby, which is due in Spring 2019.
Thomas - who is yet to meet Prince Harry - said: "They will produce a beautiful baby - I hope to see a little Meghan or little Harry.
"I think she will make a great mum."
Thomas, who admitted he had been "ghosted" by his own daughter, added: "There has to be a place for me. I'm her father and I will be the grandfather to her child.
"I'm here and she knows it."
Thomas said he had not even received a Christmas card from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to celebrate the festive season.
The interview comes as Meghan has been embroiled in speculation she is difficult to work with, sending staff emails as early as 5am.
Piers Morgan himself has also criticised the 37-year-old, previously claiming she had the tendency to dump people if she had no use for them.
But Thomas said: "That's really not a character trait. She's always been very polite to everyone, never been rude to anyone. I don't know what's really happening right now."
Mr Markle said: "My daughter lived with me from the age of 11 all through middle school and high school until she went off to college. We're very close.
"What's happened, I'm not sure. I'd love to talk about it. I think it comes back to the fact that reporters pick up on interviews I've done and write their own stories and tell lies."
He added: "If they are believing that, that's unfortunate. They've always told me not to believe anything."
And while Thomas defended his daughter against claims she was rude to staff, he admitted she was "controlling".
He said: "She has always been a very controlling person and that is part of her nature but she has never been rude.
"She has always been in charge - that's her nature - but she's always been polite."
What is ghosting?
Ghosting is an expression usually used in dating terms when someone suddenly cuts all ties and communication with the person they've been seeing.
More recently the term has been used for the suddenly end of communication in any type of relationship or close friendship.
The theory behind ghosting is that the person who is being ignored will just 'get the hint' and realise their partner, friend or family member is not interested in speaking anymore.
Ghosting can have a serious impact on a person's mental health.
The social rejection can activate the same pain in the brain as physical pain.
It comes after it was claimed overnight that Prince Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, had been nicknamed Monica and Chandler by royal staff because of her controlling reputation.
Speaking to GMB hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid from America, the dad said: "She is very polite and has always been polite to everyone."
The American, who lives in Mexico, also said he was hoping the Queen would step in to help him reconnect with his daughter.
