AMBER Rudd has slammed European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker as “ghastly” - saying his “grotesque” behaviour towards women should have been subjected to an official complaint.

The Work and Pensions Secretary said she “did not like” the way he was “holding the Prime Minister” in pictures of Mr Juncker and Theresa May clashing last week.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, she also claimed that a no-deal Brexit would be “catastrophic” and that it would be “bad for both sides.”

Commenting on an incident where Mr Juncker appeared to ruffle a woman’s hair, she said she hoped that the former Prime Minister of Luxembourg would have been subjected to an official complaint about his behaviour had it happened in the UK.

On a no-deal Brexit the former Home Secretary said: “I just don’t think that they can truthfully look at the forecasts that are coming out, you know, the Government talking about renting fridges, aeroplanes, queues at the border and think that is a desirable outcome.
“So I hope that they will get some comfort from the changes the Prime Minister makes and then support the deal.”

Jean-Claude Juncker says he admires Theresa May to a point and that he didn't refer to her as nebulous
