Meghan Markle’s rift with dad Thomas ‘upset The Queen’ who is ‘unhappy’ with handling of drama
MEGHAN Markle's rift with her dad has upset the Queen, it has been claimed.
The 92-year-old monarch is reportedly unhappy with how the Markle family drama has been handled.
Meghan Markle has not spoken to her 74-year-old dad Thomas since she married Prince Harry in May this year.
And her estranged father has given a number of interviews with British media, pleading for his pregnant daughter to contact him and saying he had been texting her everyday.
A source told : "She [The Queen] was very concerned that it [the Markle situation] was spiralling out of control, which it was.
"Buckingham Palace wanted to be able to do something and be proactive and make the situation go away. It was a direction from the Queen, so her courtiers were under strict instructions to sort it out.
"But Kensington Palace was not singing from the same hymn sheet, and that was because the message was coming from Meghan. She didn’t want to engage and thought that she could handle it on her own."
It comes as the Queen is expected to stress healing "even with the most deeply held differences" in this year's Christmas message.
In her festive speech, the monarch is expected to say: "I believe (Jesus') message of peace on Earth and goodwill to all is never out of date.
"It can be heeded by everyone. It's needed as much as ever.
"Even with the most deeply held difference, treating the other person with respect and as a fellow human being is always a good first step towards greater understanding."
Thomas Markle had been expected to walk his daughter down the aisle for her May wedding to Prince Harry, but was forced to pull out over health concerns.
He has not spoken to Meghan since her wedding, and found out she was pregnant after hearing it announced on the radio.
And his most recent interview saw him admit that his daughter, a former actress, had "always been very controlling" amid speculation she was difficult to work with.
He even appealed for the Queen to help heal the family rift.
It comes after it was claimed that Prince Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, had been nicknamed Monica and Chandler by royal staff because of her controlling reputation.
Harry and Meghan will take up residence in Frogmore Cottage next year ahead of the birth of their first child.
After years of enjoying a particularly close relationship with his younger brother, the move to Windsor comes as a huge snub to the future king and his family.

Yet, while there are difficulties between the two princes, many see the real reason for the group fall-out as the clash of Kate and Meghan’s very different personalities.
Reports have suggested that Meghan has an "extraordinarily tense" relationship with sister-in-law Kate Middleton.
As one source reveals: “They try their best to get along but they are two people from wildly different places, so it is perhaps inevitable that they will rub each other up the wrong way.”
Kensington Palace declined to comment.
