Meghan Markle ‘won’t have royal baby at same hospital where Kate Middleton did and will give birth in Surrey’

The Duchess of Sussex is rumoured to be planning to have her first child at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey

MEGHAN Markle reportedly won't have her baby in the hospital where Kate Middleton had her three children - preferring to have her royal baby in Surrey.

The Duchess of Sussex is said to be eyeing up the maternity unit at Frimley Park Hospital for the birth of her and Prince Harry's first child.

Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, had Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and eight-month-old Prince Louis at the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, West London.

A royal source told the : "If their Royal Highnesses have moved to Frogmore Cottage before the birth, as planned, Frimley Park may be a more easily accessible option than St Mary’s."

Meghan, 37, and Prince Harry, 34, are already planning to up sticks out of their residence in Kensington Palace in West London for Frogmore in Berkshire.

The home on the Windsor Estate - which is being refurbished ahead of the move - sits 15 miles from Frimley Park.

St Mary's is 23 miles away and getting there would involve a journey through busy Central London.

Frimley Park is the same hospital where Prince Edward’s wife Sophie had their children.

Her first child, Viscount Severn, was born in 2003 by emergency cesarean after she was rushed to hospital with crippling abdominal pains.

Sophie nearly died from an acute placental abruption - where the placenta separates prematurely from the uterus.

But she was saved by medics including the Queen's obstetrician Marcus Setchell.

Meghan and Harry announced they were expecting in October.

The baby is believed to be due in February or March.

Kensington Palace has confirmed Meghan Markle is pregnant and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting a baby in Spring 2019
