YouTube bans Tommy Robinson adverts to stop controversial EDL founder from making money
TOMMY Robinson's YouTube account adverts have been suspended in a bid to stop the far-right activist generating cash.
The tech giant pulled the plug after he allegedly violated its guidelines on "hate speech or content that promotes or incites violence".
YouTube's sanction against Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, comes after complaints from offended users.
His , which has more than 270,000 subscribers, is still active but he claims the firm is trying to ban him.
Sometimes his clips can be viewed a millions times and so have generated tidy sums.
In March the 36-year-old was kicked off Twitter, having breached its "hateful conduct" policy.
YouTube told Sun Online: “We have suspended ads on Tommy Robinson’s YouTube channel as it breaches our advertising policies."
Earlier this month, Robinson posted a YouTube video recapping 2018, which appears to show him having a bust up with a migrant on a street in Italy.
That video now comes with this YouTube statement: "The following content has been identified by the YouTube community as inappropriate or offensive to some audiences."

A message on Robinson’s Facebook account read: You may have seen the news today that Youtube has suspended adverts on my account and is restricting my videos. This video is why this has happened.
“It is Labour members of parliament bullying a youtube exec to remove my videos because they do not like my views.
“This is a real example of left-wing Fascism in full view.
"If you don't agree with them then they will ban you from speaking.”
