BAD MOON RISING

Stargazers post their pics of rare Super Wolf Blood Moon – but some are less than impressed

PEOPLE lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Monday morning's Blood Moon have been sharing spectacular photos of the rare event - but not everyone was impressed.

The lunar eclipse, dubbed the "super blood wolf moon", causes a red hue and makes the moon look closer to earth than normal.

It occurs when the Earth passes precisely between the Sun and Moon.

The next supermoons in 2019 will be on February 19 and March 21, with the most recent one happening on New Year's Day.

UK stargazers headed out at 5am this morning to take a look, but many moaned that they couldn't see the moon through the cloudy sky.

A reader captured a stunning video of a plane flying across the moon in during the eclipse over Redhill in Surrey.
