Labour MP Kate Osamor begged judge to spare drug-dealer son despite lying she was clueless about his crime until his sentence
Her lies were exposed when Judge Stephen Climie revealed a letter she wrote to him asking for leniency - 11 days before Ishmale pleaded guilty for drug possession with intent to supply
LIES by a top Jeremy Corbyn ally over her drug-dealer son were exposed in a victory for The Sun.
MP Kate Osamor, 50 — who quit over the scandal — fibbed that she was clueless about Ishmael’s crime until his sentence.
Her letter begging a judge for leniency soon showed her lies — but she tried to keep it and one by her son secret.
Judge Stephen Climie has now agreed with The Sun to lift the gag.
We can reveal her note, on Commons paper, was dated October 8 — 11 days before he pleaded guilty over coke, ketamine, ecstasy and cannabis.
Yet Labour falsely claimed she knew nothing until her son, 30, got 200 hours’ community service on October 26.
The ex-Shadow Development Secretary, begging he be spared prison, urged the judge: “Recognise the power you yield with regard to the future of my beautiful son.”
Ms Osamor said jailing her son — then her Chief of Staff and a councillor — would feel “like a bereavement”.
She claimed he had “high integrity and honesty” and urged “a second chance”.
The MP wrote: “I hope there are options to help Ishmael atone for his mistake without tearing my family apart.”
Meanwhile, her son’s letter to Judge Climie four days later said prison would be “extremely detrimental to my family”.
He also claimed it was his “first criminal offence in 12 years and first as an adult”.
Ishmael was arrested with £2,500 of drugs at the 2017 Bestival pop event in East Lulworth, Dorset.
Judge Climie told him he was “very lucky” to avoid four years’ jail at Bournemouth crown court.
Ishmael later resigned as a councillor in Haringey, North London.
