CHRIS Brown has been arrested on suspicion of rape in Paris, police say.
The US singer was held after a woman said she was attacked at the five star Mandarin Oriental hotel last week.
Two other men were also arrested along with the 29-year-old R&B star. One is reportedly Brown's bodyguard.
Prosecutors in the French capital confirmed Brown faced possible criminal charges after the alleged sex attack a week ago
A source said: "He is accused of a rape and is being held at the judicial police offices in the 1st arrondissement.
"He was arrested with two others on Monday, and interviews and other enquiries are ongoing."
Confirmation of the arrests today came after Closer magazine reported a 24-year-old woman alleged she was raped at Brown's hotel suite on the night of January 15.
One police official told AP news agency the complaint was filed with police in the 17th arrondissement of northwest Paris.
Brown's publicists at Sony Music would not immediately comment.
Brown has been in repeated legal trouble since pleading guilty in 2009 to assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
He completed his probation in that case in 2015.
