EMILIANO Sala’s mum broke down as she revealed she discussed the footie ace's "dream move" to Cardiff the night before his plane went missing.
Speaking through tears, Mercedes Sala told reporters in Argentina: "He was very happy, he was in the best moment of his career".
His father today admitted they are “desperate” for news on their son after the Cardiff City striker’s plane went missing over the Channel last night.
The 28-year-old was flying to the Welsh capital to meet up with his new teammates after signing for a record £15million.
But the Piper Malibu private plane lost contact at 8.30pm near the Casquets lighthouse, off Alderney, and the Argentine star is feared dead.
His panicked dad Horacio, who is still in Rosario, Argentina, revealed he didn’t know anything until a friend told him the news about the missing plane.
He said he is "worried and speechless" and just heard that the "small plane lost control in the Channel".
Horacio told local television and radio: "A friend told me, I did not know anything.
"I'm in Rosario, I'm desperate, I hope everything goes well. I spoke to Emiliano on Sunday.

"Still nobody from Nantes has communicated with us, we are worried, desperate, this took us all by surprise.
"I don't have any information on the journey, the only thing I know is that it was a small plane.
"They are saying that the plane lost control in the Channel. I don't know what could have happened. I am speechless."
His mum, Mercedes, added: "The plane is from the President of Cardiff City FC, they informed us that the plane had disappeared and that they were looking for it.
"The only thing that I can say right now is the plane took off, and they are looking for it. There is nothing yet, nothing has been found yet.
"I'm very shaken right now. It (the plane) was the property of Cardiff City FC, it was the president's (plane)."
His mum said she spoke to her son just hours before he got on the plane and she said he was "very happy" because he was "in the best moment of his career".

Air Traffic Control confirmed the plane was travelling from Nantes in Western France to Cardiff when it vanished.
It followed severe weather warnings about snow and ice issued across France.
The Welsh club is yet to confirm the incident, but chairman Mehmet Dalman said today: “We are very concerned by the latest news that a light aircraft lost contact over the Channel last night.
"We are awaiting confirmation before we can say anything further. We are very concerned for the safety of Emiliano Sala."
Snaps posted on social media suggest Sala had flown back to France to say goodbye to his old teammates at Nantes.
He was later driven to the airport by Nantes defender Nicolas Pallois, according to reports.
Yesterday lunchtime Sala shared a picture on Instagram with other players at the Ligue 1's team training ground.
The caption read: "The last goodbye".
His Instagram is littered with pictures of him smiling with friends and teammates and posing for touching snaps with his family and mum.

Former England striker and Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker today said he is hoping those on board are found safe.

"Hopefully, somehow, they’ll be found and safe."
