Kim Jong-un’s new fashion range includes edible COAT packed with protein to avoid starvation
The latest hot fashions have hit the streets of Pyongyang with lines that include edible coats and man bags
KIM Jong-un has masterminded the hottest new trend in North Korean fashion – edible coats which are packed with protein.
The coats were revealed in the latest clothing catalogues issued by the state for men and women.
The jackets were described as: “Clothing made of artificial flannelette fabrics composed of trace elements such as protein, amino acids, fruit juice, magnesium, iron and calcium can be eaten to avoid starvation.”
It also boasts the range comes with “intelligent sleeves” with the ability to “monitor or sense the health condition of the human body”.
COATS PACKED WITH PROTEIN
The coats are aimed at “people engaged in sailing, exploration and mountain climbing” who may get into difficulty and need rescuing.
There are also what appears to be rip-offs of Chanel jackets as well as Gucci handbags in the glossy catalogues.
The clothes were produced by Kim’s Clothing Research Centre, which is part of the “Foodstuffs and Daily Necessities Research Institute” under the Ministry of Provincial Industry.
The men’s catalogue is just 47 pages long while the women’s one runs to 103 pages.

Alek Sigley, from North Korea tour firm , said: “The man bag is trending among men in Pyongyang right now. They really are everywhere.”
He added: “Some of the fashion looks retro. Chinese friends say it looks like 90s women’s fashion in China. But by local standards, these are modern and cutting-edge.”
