AN EVERTON fan has revealed he "can't look in the mirror" after a Millwall hooligan 'slashed him in the face' before an FA Cup tie.

Footage shows yobs trading punches outside Surrey Quays station in South East London yesterday - before a thug rakes a knife down Jay Burns' cheek.

Posting a gory selfie of his five-inch wound - which left him with 20 stitches - he wrote: "Absolutely devastated about me face.

"I can’t even look at me self In the mirror daft c*** award goes to me again."

"They've only gone and knocked me nice looking, I appreaciate everyone's messages.

"To all the Everton lads and everyone who has messaged me and the Liverpool lads who have messaged me, much appreciated.

"Everton till I die".

Police can be seen desperately trying to separate rival hooligans during violent clashes before the FA Cup match at the New Den.

The attacker is believed to be an Millwall fan.

Other footage emerged last night from a flat overlooking the scene showed thugs fighting running street battles.

Police officers, supported by a mounted patrol, quickly intervened and had to use batons to separate the two groups.

In the days before the game, Mr Burns had joked on Facebook about previous violence between the two sets of supporters.

He shared a newspaper clipping on Facebook about a mass stabbing at his side's Goodison Park stadium when the two sides met in 1973.

One 17-year-old fan was stabbed in the lung and 10 other Millwall fans were knifed.

Beneath the post, he wrote: "Let's see how friendly they are Saturday."

The Met confirmed a man in his 20s had been found with a "slash wound" to the face. No arrests have been made.

It is understood officers will speak to Mr Burns in the coming days about his involvement in the incident.

HOOLIGANS CLASH IN THE STREET

He was taken to a South London hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries.

Detective Inspector Darren Young, of the South Central Command Unit, said: “The behaviour of those involved in this incident is nothing short of disgraceful and those involved can be certain we will be working to identify them.

"We are aware of the video circulating online, which has quite rightly elicited shock and disgust."

Meanwhile, Millwall face the threat of a stadium closure after an investigation was launched into racist chanting from their fans.

Video footage shows a section of the home fans chanting: "I'd rather be a p*** than as Scouse" midway through the match.

The Championship club's 3-2 victory over Premier League side Everton was overshadowed by a section of yobs making vile taunts.

Cops have now launched a criminal investigation into the footage.

Meanwhile, QPR and Portsmouth players were involved in a 22-man melee following their 1-1 draw at Fratton Park.
