Muslim parents ‘take kids out of school in protest at gay right’s classes’ without their consent

MUSLIM parents claim to have taken their children out of a primary school to stop them being taught about gay rights.
They accused gay assistant headteacher Andrew Moffat of promoting LGBT causes without their consent.
Mum-of-three Fatima Shah, 29, has started a petition demanding Parkfield Community School in Birmingham stops teaching children about homosexuality, which is banned under Islam.
She said: “It’s totally wrong. Children are being told it’s OK to be gay yet 98 per cent of children at this school are Muslim.
"It’s a Muslim community. I’ve taken my daughter out and other parents have, too.”
Mr Moffat, who was made an MBE for campaigning against homophobia, has piloted a reading programme, called No Outsiders.
It means the 470 pupils at Parkfield are read stories such as Mommy, Mama and Me and King & King.
Labour councillor Mohammed Idrees has told the school it must listen to parents’ concerns.
But Parkfield, rated outstanding by Ofsted, denied any children had been withdrawn.
It said: “No Outsiders allows us to raise awareness of these differences so that children are able to tolerate differences in our society.”
