Winston Churchill’s grandson praises Piers Morgan for defending wartime PM against ‘ginger turd’ MSP who branded him a ‘white supremacist’
He tweeted a 'well done' message to the Good Morning Britain host
WINSTON Churchill's grandson has praised Piers Morgan for defending the former Prime Minister against an MSP who called him a "white supremacist".
Piers blasted Ross Greer as a "thick ginger turd" after he called Churchill a "white supremacist mass murderer".
The Good Morning Britain host was then prompted to post a tweet reading: "To all imbeciles currently bombarding me with abuse about the great Sir Winston Churchill", followed by a picture of Churchill with two fingers up.
To which his grandson, Nicholas Soames replied: "#welldonepiers".
The MP's congratulatory response wasn't received well by haters on Twitter.
One said: "You’ve just proven yourself recently to be equally as loathesome as your grandfather."
While others approved of the way he stood up for his grandfather.
Aled Rees replied: "That what I like to see. It's all about family @NSoames. We owe a great deal of gratitude to Mr Churchill and I have great respect for him."
PIERS' TWITTER RIFT
The rift began with a tweet from the Conservative party which said Churchill was the "greatest Briton to have ever lived".
It paid tribute to him on the anniversary of his death on January 24 in 1965.
But Mr Greer, a Scottish Green party politician, responded on Twitter: "Once again for the people in the back. Churchill was a white supremacist mass murderer."
Piers hit back in defence of the wartime legend, who led Britain between 1940 and 1945 - leading Britain to victory in World War Two and saving the world from Nazi Germany.
And you're a thick ginger turd

He then came back to lead the country a final time between 1951 and 1955 too.
The GMB host said: "And you're a thick ginger turd who'd be spewing this filth in German if it wasn't for Churchill."
But the 24-year-old stuck to his guns, insisting: "This is the real, verified history of Churchill and the one known throughout much of the world'.
He added: "If that’s uncomfortable to some here, it’s just a sign of how uneducated Britain is of our own shameful history."
Other politicians jumped to the defence of Piers Morgan too.
Scottish Tory whip Maurice Golden said: "Sir Winston Churchill is one of the defining figures of western democracy… seeking to diminish him is a disservice to the millions of men and women who fought to preserve our freedom."
Brits have regularly voted Churchill as Britain's greatest ever Prime Minister.
But his involvement in the colonial rule in India and other controversial views have sparked a backlash in recent years.
