THE distraught mum of missing Libby Squire hugged a police officer today as she left a church service marking the tenth day of her disappearance.

Lisa Squire and Libby's dad Russ attended the vigil at Hull Community Church as the hunt for the student continues.

The mum was seen embracing a police officer amid hopes Libby is still alive after vanishing following a drunken night out in Hull last month.

Lisa, 48, and Russ, 53, who travelled to Hull from their home in High Wycombe, Bucks., are being comforted by specialist family liaison officers.

They released a heartbreaking statement after she vanished to their "darling pie".

It comes after senior cops say they are still treating Libby's disappearance as a missing persons inquiry.

CCTV footage appears to show her getting into a car with a man before being driven away.

She has not been seen since.

But cops say she could still be alive and today used a specialist infrared camera on outbuildings close to her home.

The high-tech gadget is capable of detecting people who may be hidden or partially obscured by cover.

It is also equipped with an audio microphone that allows an operator to listen for signs of a hidden subject.

INFRARED CAMERAS

A source said: "The police won't give up hope until all hope has gone. They owe that to Libby."

Polish butcher and dad-of-two Pawel Relowicz, 24, was arrested by detectives on suspicion of abducting Libby last week.

They were last night granted an extra 24 hours to continue questioning him.

Detectives confirmed they will have until 9pm tonight to either charge him or release him on bail.

It will mean he has been in custody for the maximum 96 hours.

He was held at the home he shares with his wife, Jagoda, 24, and two kids, on Wednesday night at 9pm.

The rented property is less than a mile away from where Libby was last seen in Hull, East Yorks.

His silver Vauxhall Astra was seized by cops and has since been thoroughly searched by forensic officers.

A computer was also taken away for examination.

RESIDENTS QUIZZED

Detectives returned to the street yesterday to quiz neighbours once more.

A source said: "All residents were given a form with seven questions on to complete.

"It asked where they were the night Libby went missing, if they know her, had they seen any suspicious activity in the street before the arrest and had they ever noticed the car before.

"It also asked if they knew anyone who lives at the number where Relowicz lives."

Libby was heading for the Welly night club a short distance from her home on Wellesley Avenue the night she vanished.

Door staff refused to let her in because she was too drunk.

Her friends put her into a taxi to take her home and she was dropped off outside her digs around 11.30pm.

She was seen staggering in the street and a short time later was spotted on a bench on nearby Beverley Road.

A motorist who was concerned for her welfare stopped at 11.45pm but drove off after checking she was okay.

CCTV footage taken at 12.09am just a few feet away on Haworth Street shows a woman believed to be Libby getting into the passenger side of a car.

A second film obtained by The Sun, shows a similar car being driven half a mile away ten minutes later at 12.19am.

POLICE STILL HOPEFUL

Libby’s devastated university housemate Chloe Wise posted a series of pictures of her and her friend together on Instagram.

The three images show both girls happy and smiling on a beach with the caption "Thinkin of better days" with a heart emoji.

Libby, who was wearing a black top, denim jacket and denim skirt with lace, has not been seen since.

Cops launched a huge search when she was reported missing.

A river and pond close to her home were checked by specialist divers from a police marine unit using an underwater camera.

Bins, drains and gardens have also been swept but without trace.

A woman living close to where Libby was last seen later described hearing "bloodcurdling screams" at 12.30am – around 20 minutes after she vanished.

They were so terrifying they made the woman sit up in bed and say: "Oh my God."
