Valentine’s Day survey reveals over half of Brits in relationships spend less than £10

OVER half of Brits in relationships spend less than £10.00 on their Valentine, a study found.
Research by Bloom & Wild found the average Valentine’s Day spend may be £52.00 but 28 per cent spend nothing at all.
Couples in Yorkshire spend the least on their other half on Valentine’s Day with the region paying out just £16 on a gift.
Lovebirds in East Anglia were similar on their attitude to the day with an average budget of £18.50 – with the East Midlands spending slightly more at £24.
Bloom & Wild’s survey also found that nearly a third of Brits forgot to buy their loved-one a present for February 14 and the worst offenders were 25-34 year olds.
54% of the age bracket has let Valentine’s Day go by without even acknowledging it.
The most favoured acts on Valentine’s Day is being surprised with our favourite home-cooked meals (30 per cent), flowers (30 per cent) and just simply spending unexpected time with our significant other (24 per cent).
