Girl, 5, covered in bite marks after being raped in public toilet by vile paedo when parents let her go to the loo by herself

The latest attack on a child in India prompted an official to say 'Delhi is truly the rape capital of the world. God help us all!'

A VILE paedo allegedly bit and raped a five-year-old girl when her parents let her go to the public loo by herself in Delhi, India.

The vicious sexual assault only came to light, however, when her dad became suspicious after finding bite marks all over her body.

Swati Maliwal, chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, tweeted her horror over the alleged rape, saying: “The child has suffered terribly and has bled a lot.

“On my way to the hospital to see her. Delhi is truly the rape capital of the world. God help us all!!!”

The traumatised victim had kept the alleged attack secret for five days, reports the .

Cops have now arrested and charged a 35-year-old man – a sanitation worker at the toilet – with the child’s rape.

The alleged assault occurred at 2pm on February 6, with a police spokesperson explaining: “She goes to the toilet complex often.

“She was not accompanied by an adult as she was familiar with the place.”

The girl’s mum “found out about the incident [on] the day it happened, but kept it to herself,” the spokesperson added.

"IMMENSE PAIN"

On Monday, the girl’s dad asked her to explain the bite marks on her body, prompting her to tell him of the alleged rape in the toilet.

DCW chief Swati Maliwal said: “I met the child and her parents. Her body has bruises everywhere, and she is in immense pain.

“We will soon begin inspecting public toilets in the city.”

Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Monika Bhardwaji added: “The child is in the hospital and is stable.”

Bipin Rai, member of the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board – in charge of the toilet complex – said the attack was “a very serious matter”.

He added: “ An audit of all toilets to check security arrangements will be done in the coming weeks and action will be taken against any agency that is found wanting in this department.”

The girl’s attack comes at the same time the body of a seven-year-old girl, who was brutally raped, was found in a pile of rubbish in New Delhi.

In a case that has shocked the country, the parents told DCW chief Swati Maliwal that the child’s body was covered in blood and her neck and feet had been tied up tight.

Her dad had spent the night frantically searching for his missing girl, with no support from the local police, according to .

Maliwal has issued a notice to the Joint Commissioner of Police demanding reasons for police inaction on the missing child’s complaint lodged by her father.

Her horrific rape and murder is the latest in a string of sexual assaults in recent years, including the gang rape and murder of a student on a moving New Delhi bus in 2012.

That brutal attack galvanised a country where widespread violence against women had long been quietly accepted.

While the government has passed a series of laws increasing punishment for rape of an adult to 20 years in prison, it’s rare for more than a few weeks to pass without another brutal sexual assault being reported.

Responding to widespread outrage over the recent rape and killings of young girls and other attacks on children, India’s government has recently approved the death penalty for people convicted of raping children under age 12.
