'NO BLACKS'

Boy, 10, left ‘traumatised’ after racist thugs spray ‘no blacks’ graffiti on door of his family home

The father and son had been living in the Salford flat for less than a week when they were targeted in a hate crime

A TEN-YEAR-OLD boy has been left "traumatised" after racist thugs spray-painted "no blacks" on the door of his family home.

Now David Yamba, who started school in Salford a few months ago, “doesn’t want to stay in the house any more”.

His father Jackson, 38, released shocking images of the racist slogans on not only his front door – but the flat’s communal door - in Irlams O’ th’ Height.

The images shocked the Greater Manchester community, who were quick to say the cowardly thugs don’t speak for Salford.

Qualified barrister Jackson, originally from The Democratic Republic of Congo, arrived in the UK in 2006 and moved into the flat last month.

The single-dad reportedly broke down in tears when he saw the hateful message after only living there for five days.

: “My daddy was taking me to school when we first saw it. I was scared as this has never happened to me before.

“I was so surprised. I wanted to stay in the house in case they were waiting and I didn’t want to go to school, but Dad said it will be okay."

Jackson reported the incident to Greater Manchester Police.

But he claims he was told officers didn’t have enough staff to investigate.

He told The Guardian he was appalled that police had not visited even a week after the hate crime was committed.

Jackson told of the trauma it has caused his son: "He used to go to school alone but since that day he can’t even go through the corridor by himself. He’s traumatised by the incident."

Chief Inspector David Gilbride, of GMP’s Salford district, has reportedly now made a personal visit to the family to assure them the crime is being fully investigated.
