Grime star Wretch 32 accuses AirBnb host of racism after his booking was cancelled

A TOP Brit rapper has accused an Airbnb host of racism after his rental booking was cancelled.

Grime star Wretch 32, real name Jermaine Scott Sinclair, claimed the property host had an issue with “coloured folk and felt uncomfortable”.

He booked the property to mark his 34th birthday on Saturday.

Wretch, who had a No1 hit with Don’t Go, told his 870,000 Twitter followers that Airbnb also kept half his fee after the booking was cancelled.

He tweeted: “Airbnb cancelled my booking, stole half my money because the host had an issue with ‘coloured folk & felt uncomfortable’.
“I’ve heard of birthday beats but not birthday teefs (thieves).”

Airbnb allows people to book homes or flats to stay in – rather than a hotel or guesthouse.

It is as simple as booking a hotel online – the website allows you to browse through location and price and you can see reviews of past visitors.

A spokesman for Airbnb said: “We were concerned to hear about this experience and have reached out to Wretch 32 and his management to learn more.

“Discrimination has no place on Airbnb and goes against everything our community stands for.”
