YOUTUBER PewdiePie has responded revealing his disgust after one of the New Zealand gunmen said his name before opening fire in a horrific massacre live-stream.
PewdiePie, real name Felix Kjellberg, took to Twitter to express his condolences to families who have been affected by the terror attack which has left 49 dead so far.
What we know so far:
- At least one gunman opened fire at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, at 1.40pm local time on Friday
- 49 people have been killed - 41 at Masjid Al Noor Mosque, 7 at Linwood Masjid Mosque and 1 died at hospital
- 48 people were rushed to hospital with gunshot wounds and 20 are in critical condition
- The killer is believed to be Brenton Tarrant, an Australian who published a chilling 74-page manifesto before the rampage
- Cops arrested three men and a woman - initial reports of one wearing a suicide vest were incorrect
- Police defused improvised explosives found on nearby booby-trapped cars
In twisted footage, the gunman said "let's get this party started" as he drove up to a mosque playing loud music.
He then said "Remember lads, subscribe to pewdiepie", referencing the controversial YouTuber.
The Swede is the most subscribed YouTuber in the world with over 89million subscribers.
He wrote on Twitter: "Just heard news of the devastating reports from New Zealand Christchurch.
"I feel absolutely sickened having my name uttered by this person.
"My heart and thoughts go out to the victims, families and everyone affected by this tragedy."
One of the white-supremacist gunmen filmed the footage on a GoPro camera and streamed it to a Facebook page.
He fired automatic weapons as people ran for their lives and executed people at point blank range - including one girl who lied on the floor screaming for help.
The shooter - believed to be a 28-year-old Australian - also published a chilling 74 page manifesto online saying he was inspired by Norway mass murderer Anders Breivik and Dylan Roof.
