ISIS bride Shamima Begum’s terrorist husband says couple are ‘living a nightmare’ after death of third baby
SHAMIMA Begum's jihadi husband has told of their “nightmare” after their third baby died in a Syrian refugee camp as she fought to return to Britain.
ISIS fighter Yago Riedijk, 27, currently detained in a Kurdish-run camp in Syria, described Begum as "the perfect wife" and said they are heartbroken over the deaths of their three babies.
Speaking to , Riedijk, originally from the Netherlands, said: “Me and her, we loved them so much it’s a nightmare.
“It’s the worst thing that could ever happen. She’s just alone, heartbroken, having lost three children."
He added: "We got very close very quickly. The perfect wife. She was so young and innocent. It was very easy for me to love her."
The ISIS fighter spoke of his love for former London schoolgirl Begum, and dismissed the claims she worked within the organisation - saying she was "just a housewife".
Home Secretary Sajid Javid has stripped Begum of her British citizenship because of public safety fears and she now lives in a refugee camp near the Iraqi border.
The Islamist couple’s first two infants — a girl and boy — died of malnutrition during the final stages of the battle against ISIS in the Euphrates valley.

Begum, who is now aged 19, had a third baby, a son called Jarrah who was born healthy but died from pneumonia on March 8.
The ISIS bride was only 15 when she ran away from her home in east London to join the terror group in 2015.
Before turning 16, she married Riedijk who was a 23-year-old man.
But Riedijk said they soon started experiencing the oppressive, paranoid and sadistic realities of the ISIS Caliphate — a regime notorious for depraved behaviour which it unashamedly bragged about in sick snuff videos.
He says he travelled to Syria after falling in love with a Muslim girl at school.
The fighter claims he doubted his decision to join immediately after arriving, before he was injured in an airstrike and met Begum.
But 10 days after they married Riedijk said he was jailed for being a foreign spy after being tortured during interrogations.
Not long after he was released after signing a contract where he wasn’t allowed a phone or contact to the outside world.
The 27-year-old insists he never fought as a soldier after that, but worked as a guard and medic, claiming he and his wife began to doubt the mission of ISIS.
