Edmonton stab victim left ‘paralysed after knifeman sliced his spinal cord in street attack’

A VICTIM of the North London stabbing rampage was left paralysed when the knifeman sliced his spinal cord, a court heard today.
Jason Kakaire, 29, appeared at Highbury Magistrates Court accused of attempting to kill five people in four days in Edmonton between March 30 and April 2 by stabbing them in the back.
He also faces five counts of possession of an offensive weapon connected to the attacks.
Harika Yuksel, prosecuting, told Highbury Corner Magistrates Court: "This case relates to a spate of violent attacks.
"All the attacks were carried out in a small geographical area over a short period of time."
The prosecutor said a man in his 30s suffered a severe back wound.
She added: ";The most seriously injured had a severed spinal cord causing paralysis.
"All the victims were of varying ages and ethnicities and were both male and female."

District Judge Julia Newton denied Kakaire bail and sent the case to the Old Bailey to be heard next month.
Kakaire, of Edmonton, is charged with five counts of attempted murder. He further faces five counts of possession of an offensive weapon.
Kakaire did not enter pleas and will now appear at the Old Bailey on May 3.
