Kurt Cobain’s daughter Frances Bean tells Sean Lennon they should ‘embrace similarities’ with famous parents
On the 25th anniversary of her father's death, 27-year-old Frances Bean spoke out on Instagram about the struggles of being a child with famous parents
KURT Cobain's daughter Frances Bean has revealed how she deals with being compared to her famous parents - as she gives advice to John Lennon's son.
Speaking out on Instagram, the 27-year-old said that the pair need to "embrace the similarities and celebrate the differences" between them and their famous parents.
On the 25th anniversary of her father's death, Bean, the daughter of Cobain and rock-star mum Courtney Love, has said that she often tries not to look like her dad.
But she is regularly compared to him - especially when she wears his signature oval-shaped sunglasses.
Her comments were in response to an Instagram post made by John Lennon and Yoko Ono's son, Sean Ono Lennon, about constantly being compared to his parents.
Lennon recently made an appearance on Jimmy Fallon's talk show the Tonight Show to promote his new album.
He was dressed in a velvet suit and looked eerily similar to his famous father, wearing his signature wire-frame glasses.
'I don't 'try' to look like my parents'
Lennon captioned the image of himself: "I have struggled all my life with people telling me I'm 'trying' to look like dad, or mum.
"That's why I rarely wear these type of glasses, but they're actually just better on my face.
"It's funny, but I promise I don't 'try' to look like my parents, it just happens."
Bean responded to Lennon on Instagram with sympathy.
She wrote: "You look wonderful!
"I do the same thing re sunglasses, I try not to wear those oval frames often, but when I do, I know they look good on my face, so what can we do.
"Embrace the similarities and celebrate the differences, I suppose!"
