MP DEATH THREAT

Labour activists ‘threatened to kill MP Jess Phillips after she criticised Jeremy Corbyn’

The outspoken Labour MP said she was also targeted by trolls because she is a woman

POLICE are investigating Labour members who threatened to KILL one of the party’s most popular MPs, it was revealed today.

Jess Phillips, the Labour MP for Birmingham Yardley said Jeremy Corbyn supporters had targeted her because she has publicly criticised the Labour leader.

She told Sky News, “And also I’m a woman, that doesn’t help,” adding: “There’s a propaganda war that goes on that tries to take the credibility of your voice away because they’re worried that people listen to me.”

Ms Phillips, who was elected in 2015, famously said she would be happy to “knife” Mr Corbyn in the front if she thought he would harm Labour’s chances of returning to power - instead of “stabbing someone in the back”.

In a lengthy interview yesterday she said she had become a “lightning rod” because she was unafraid to speak out and refusing to be “controlled” by the Labour leadership.

Ms Phillips, who was elected in 2015, said: “I have got people from the Labour party who are currently under police investigation for threatening to kill me.

“Because I can’t be controlled and anyone who wants to control you – in politics there are a lot of people who want to control you and make you say certain things whether that’s your party or your local membership.

“If you can’t control what a person says with the normal mechanisms of we’ll get rid of you, even a nice approach, if you can’t make them say exactly what you want and they want me to basically say Jeremy Corbyn is the best thing since sliced bread, if they can’t make you then like in any power and control model, violence is the way to control an uncontrollable person and so that’s why I became a lightning rod because I say what I think.

“And also I’m a woman, that doesn’t help.”

The startling revelation of police investigations into threats to kill Ms Phillips came as a leaked dossier of emails revealed how Labour had failed to take disciplinary action against hundreds of members accused of vile anti-Semitic slurs under Mr Corbyn’s leadership.

The Sun Says

WHAT do you have to do to get kicked out of Corbyn’s Labour party?

Even posting “Heil Hitler” online isn’t enough to be expelled, a damning new dossier shows.

Meanwhile moderate MPs like Jess Phillips get death threats from crazed Corbynistas — furious that they haven’t signed up to the hard-left cult.

Incredibly, Jeremy’s close pal Shami Chakrabarti tells Jewish members thinking of walking out: Don’t worry, just wait for a new leader to come along who might actually do something about anti-Semitism!

It’s another reminder that this race-baiting rabble is totally unfit for power. Theresa May should be very careful about giving them more credibility with her Brexit talks.

A hard drive of emails and confidential database revealed how some party members had even escaped punishment for posting comments such as “Heil Hitler,” F*** the Jews” and “Jews are the problem”. The members had not been expelled despite complaints being made a year ago.

Meanwhile Labour’s Shadow Attorney General Shami Chakrabarti appeared to admit Mr Corbyn was a personally a problem in Labour’s anti-Semitism crisis.

Pleading with the Jewish Labour Movement not to quit the party, she told Sky News: “My plea to the Jewish Labour Movement is to stay in the Labour movement and to tackle racism together, not to personalise it and make it about Jeremy Corbyn, because he is one person and he won’t be leader forever.”
